Windows sounds are disabled in the settings
Thanks for this post, I downloaded it and after a fair amount of fiddleing about got it to work well enough to enjoy the sounds it can generate, love the fact I can import an mp3 and jam along with it (sort of lol) hardest thing was getting the sound out through the desktop speakers, rs cable was picked up pretty early in the faffing stage and then ended up uninstalling realtek driver and doing a re-install with updated drivers. I am considering trying out guitar rig for the same purpose, I'm just curious if being able to mute out the part you are playing and being able to really slow down songs (you mentioned guitar rig can only do about 85% of the speed you can get in accelerator in rocksmith) makes riffstation + rocksmith potentially even better for practise than guitar rig. It worked great except for some latency from the ps3 guitar sound.
I tested this out already by routing my ps3 sound through my pc so that both the ps3 sound and pc sound were coming into my headphones. And with rocksmith pc you can load up your guitar tone for that song in amp mode and then practise the looped bit in riffstation with the guitar muted out. Then you can slow down and loop any part of the song and play it over and over. Riffstation allows you to do a lot of things, but most importantly you can load an mp3 song, select the lead guitar part (or bass), and mute it out of the song. I had planned on using a new program called riffstation along with Rocksmith PC version to improve the way I practise songs. Here is a video about Steve Jones, that uses it in live performances: I may go to the States next year to get me one. It is like having a different audio card, desinged for low latency and with its own proprietary, high-performance ASIO driver. I really wanted to get the Kontrol 3 foot controller. Guitar Rig with ASIO still uses the speakers/headphones jack, but any other application cannot do it. Then right clicke "speakers" and select Disable (you can enable it back at any time using the same menus). To disable the speaker system you right click the speaker icon at the tray icon and select "playback devices" from the pop up menu. So now I can play for about 10 minutes before noise comes in. I also figured out I can disable the laptop speakers system altogether (ASIO bypasses the Opearting System and takes control of the audio card). I did a lot of research and I was able to get latency way down. Yeah, I'll probably get me that for Xmas.Īfter playing for a while I still start getting some cummulative noise, when using my main laptop. But in any case, it is great, isn't it? Rock on! I guess this would be an incentive for them to fix any issue. I mentioned Rocksmith provides them a potential market of one million guitar and bass players that have a ready to use guitar to USB hardware. If I get any response from Native Instruments support I will post it here. I am still having some intermitent noise, I hope this does not happen to you and I am suspicious that different sound cards will produce different results. Without the proper configuration and very little faith, as I had been told my a musician friend of min2, that it wouldn't work without additional hardware.Īs I read the thread I was ver skeptical, but after using you configuration and turning of the mike on creative sound card config, voilá, guitar on my PC. I had tried and failed it a few months ago.
I just registered in this forum with the only purpose of THANKING YOU for showing me how to use Guitar Rig 5 with Rocksmith cable. Here is the link to download the free version (). Then you have to close the application and restart it to keep playing. You can still use all functions and play normally, but after you enter demo mode you can play for 30 minutes and the sound stops. For now, whenever you select an effect or amp that would be available only in paid versions, the application gives you a message and enters demo mode.
The pro version costs 199, I will get that when I have some money to spare. In addition you can record yourself, play along with audio files (including your own) and much more. You can see a big list of famous artists that use it, including Rush, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Living Colour, Black Sabbath, Corrs, Cult, and Cranberries.Ī lot like Rocksmith you can chain effects, select amp, cabinet, microphone change settings, save and restore presets.
Guitar Rig is a multi-effects software you can use just like a multi-fx unit, but you plug your guitar into your pc and your pc into the amp or pa, instead of the fx unit. More info please, on free version of Guitar Rig
